Maktabat al-Taslīm — the library of submission. A Shia research institution’s home online, built end-to-end.
01The brief
A Shia research institution needed a real online home — not a brochure. Two surfaces: a bilingual research library the public reads, and a separate portal behind it. I designed and built both, front to back. Both are live.
02Bilingual by architecture
Arabic and English are first-class equals here, not a translation afterthought. lang="ar" dir="rtl" runs throughout, with Amiri set against the Latin type so the Arabic reads as it should — right to left, fully composed, never bolted on.
03The stack
Next.js front to back, Supabase for data and auth. A working research tool: content that has to be found, read, and administered — the library for readers, the portal for the people who run it.
